Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders – Preview, Tips and Odds

The Kansas City Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders at the Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday in what will be an important clash with playoff implications on week 14 of the regular season.

The AFC West is tight, the Chiefs currently hold the lead thanks to their 8-4 record but others are not too far behind, the Chargers are in second and the Raiders are in third with a 6-6 season record.

Kansas City Chiefs v Las Vegas Raiders Head to Head

We don’t have to go too far back to find the most recent meeting between these two, as they played in week 10 of this season.

The Raiders hosted the game but were comfortably beaten by a score line of 41-14. Tyreek Hill scored two touchdowns in the game, showing his excellent relationship on the field with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

That trend has been in place for some time now when you compare the historically head to head date. The Chiefs have won four of the last five meetings, but this goes back much further than that, with 14 of the last 17 meetings going their way, showing the dominance they have had over this Raiders team.

This is the final meeting of the season, and another victory for the Chiefs would strengthen their push to top this division and put the Raiders on the cusp of playoff elimination.

Kansas City Chiefs Form

After the first seven weeks, the Chiefs were 3-4 on the season, with people asking questions. Since then, they’ve found their groove and won five straight, leading them to the 804 position they are currently in at the top of the AFC West.

This is not a team that often gets praised defensively, but they have certainly helped the team get going, no longer are we seeing them rely on offense to win games.

Having said that, it is still their strength, and Tyreek Hill once again leads the team in touchdowns, with eight in the season so far. Behind him, there is plenty of depth too, with Travis Kelce and running back Darrel Williams both having five touchdowns each to support the star receiver.

Las Vegas Raiders Form

The Raiders have had a season where they have struggled to get going and perform with any kind of consistency. That has led them to an even 6-6 so far, and work to do if they want to make the playoffs.

Last weekend they were beaten by the Washington football team, a week after a great performance to beat the Dallas Cowboys, highlighting their consistency issues. Josh Jacobs scored the lone touchdown last week, adding that to the 90-yard game he had on the ground and in the air.

With seven total touchdowns on the season, it is Jacobs who leads the Raiders offense, and he is going to have to have a big game on the ground for Las Vegas to win this one. Look out for Hunter Renfrow too, he has four touchdowns and 760 yards on the season and had 100 of those yards in a great performance last weekend.
