In the second period, the Pistons built a 15-point advantage, though the score was tied at halftime.

After the break, J.B. Bickerstaff’s team regained control, extending their lead to 23 points before sealing the 117-97 victory. Detroit increased its winning streak to eight games, the franchise’s longest in the NBA in 17 years. The last time the Pistons won eight or more consecutive games was in 2008, when they recorded 10 straight victories between January 23 and February 13. The win also ended Boston’s six-game winning streak.

Malik Beasley led Detroit with 26 points in 22 minutes off the bench. Cade Cunningham contributed 21 points and 11 assists, while Tobias Harris added 16 points and nine boards. Jalen Duren finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

For the Celtics, who remain atop the Atlantic Division, Jayson Tatum was the top scorer with 27 points.
