  • Davies’ new contract includes a salary increase to €15 million per season

Bayern Munich officially announced the contract extension of Alphonso Davies, securing the Canadian left-back’s future with the club until the summer of 2030. The deal had been in place for some time but was only confirmed after the transfer window closed. Reports suggest that Davies’ salary has increased to €15 million per season.

The 24-year-old was in the final months of his previous contract, which would have made him a free agent this summer. Real Madrid had been monitoring the situation and was interested in signing him, but Davies opted to continue his career at Bayern.

Davies joined the German club six years ago in a €14 million winter transfer from Vancouver Whitecaps. Since then, he has played 220 matches for Bayern, scoring 12 goals and providing 34 assists. However, he is currently sidelined due to injury.

While Davies’ future is now settled, Bayern Munich still faces contract uncertainties with Joshua Kimmich and Leroy Sané, whose current deals expire this summer. The club will have to decide whether to extend their contracts or risk losing two key players in the upcoming transfer window.
