Just three days before his 22nd birthday, Amen Thompson delivered the first game-winning shot of his career, leading the Houston Rockets to a thrilling 114-112 victory over reigning champions Boston on the road.

Thompson secured the win with just 0.7 seconds left on the clock. Utilizing a euro-step to create space, he calmly sank a mid-range jumper from 3-4 meters. “This was my first shot like that, so I felt just like Kobe” said Thompson, who finished the game with 33 points and continues to play a key role for the Rockets this season.

The Rockets overcame a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to complete their comeback. Dillon Brooks also starred for Houston, scoring 36 points, including 10 three-pointers, in an outstanding performance. With the win, Houston improved to 31-14, maintaining their position as the second-best team in the Western Conference.

For Boston, Jaylen Brown led the team with 28 points, while Jayson Tatum struggled in the first half, going scoreless before finishing with 19 points. The loss dropped Boston to a 32-15 record, narrowing their lead over the New York Knicks (31-16) in the Eastern Conference standings.
