Chelsea ended their Premier League winless streak with a crucial 3-1 home victory against Wolverhampton, marking their first league triumph of the year. The result pushed Enzo Maresca’s team into fourth place, overtaking Manchester City and Newcastle, while Wolverhampton remains precariously close to the relegation zone, tied on points with Ipswich.

Chelsea opened the scoring through Tosin Adarabioyo in the 24th minute. However, Wolverhampton equalized just before halftime when Matt Doherty capitalized on a mistake by Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez. Despite similar second-half collapses in previous games against Fulham and Bournemouth, Chelsea responded decisively this time. Marc Cucurella restored the Blues’ lead in the 60th minute, and Noni Madueke sealed the victory five minutes later with a well-taken goal. Trevoh Chalobah, who recently returned to Chelsea after his loan at Crystal Palace was terminated, delivered a strong performance and was named Player of the Match.

Chelsea’s next challenge comes away from home against the in-form defending champions Manchester City. Wolverhampton, meanwhile, will prepare to host Arsenal at Molineux in their upcoming Premier League clash.
