The six-point gap between league leaders Liverpool and second-placed Nottingham Forest in the Premier League standings remains unchanged after the two teams drew 1-1 at the City Ground in their clash.

Forest took an early lead through Chris Wood, who scored in the 8th minute during the home side’s first attack of the match. Liverpool struggled throughout the first half, failing to register a single shot on target. Forest’s organized defense kept the visitors at bay, recalling their previous meeting in September when Forest beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield.

The second half saw a shift in momentum, particularly after the 65th minute. Liverpool began to find their rhythm, with manager Arne Slot’s substitutions playing a crucial role. Diogo Jota equalized just 22 seconds after coming on in the 66th minute. Following the goal, Liverpool created several scoring opportunities, but Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Mats Sels delivered an outstanding performance with multiple key saves to secure the draw.

The result ended Nottingham Forest’s six-match winning streak while maintaining Liverpool’s unbeaten record since their September defeat to Forest. However, Liverpool remains winless against Forest this season, with the latter being the only team to defeat them in the league.
