Last night’s NBA action saw the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets emerging victorious against Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks respectively. In the first game, Nikola Jokic powered the Nuggets to a 139-120 victory over the Hawks, securing his 14th triple-double of the season with 23 points, 17 rebounds, and 15 assists. Remarkably, the Serbian achieved these numbers in just 29 minutes on the court, making him the first player in NBA history to post such stats in under 30 minutes. The Nuggets’ win helped them climb to fourth place in the Western Conference with a 19-13 record, trailing the leader, the Oklahoma City Thunder, by eight games.

Russell Westbrook contributed 16 points and 11 assists, while Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray each added 21 points to Denver’s victory. The Nuggets’ high-scoring offense surpassed the 130-point mark for the fourth consecutive game, showcasing their impressive firepower. For Atlanta, Trae Young scored 30 points and dished out nine assists, while De’Andre Hunter added 20 points, but it was not enough to prevent the Hawks’ four-game winning streak from being snapped.

In the other game, the Houston Rockets defeated the Dallas Mavericks 110-99, with Cam Whitmore scoring 18 points off the bench and Alperen Sengun contributing 23 points and five steals. Jalen Green scored 22 points and Dillon Brooks added 19 points and six rebounds for the Rockets. The Mavericks, already without leading scorer Luka Doncic due to a calf injury, lost P.J. Washington to a right knee sprain during the game, making it an uphill battle. Klay Thompson scored 16 points and Kyrie Irving added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Mavericks, but it was not enough to secure a win.

The Rockets’ victory helped them rebound from losing the first two games of a five-game homestand, and they will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming games. The Nuggets, meanwhile, will aim to continue their high-scoring form and climb the standings in the Western Conference.
