In a stunning display of dominance, Inter handed Lazio a humiliating 6-0 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico, marking the Eagles’ worst Serie A loss in an astonishing 63 years. The victory not only showcased Inter’s prowess but also solidified their position as a top contender for the Serie A title. Prior to the match, both teams were level on points, but the Nerazzurri now find themselves in third place, just three points behind leaders Atalanta.

Lazio, under the guidance of Marco Baroni, had been enjoying an impressive season, with 14 wins in their previous 17 matches across all competitions. However, Inter’s masterclass performance, led by coach Simone Inzaghi, proved too much for the Eagles to handle. Hakan Calhanoglu opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 41st minute, followed by Federico Dimarco’s goal shortly after. The second half was a disaster for Lazio, as Nicolo Barella and Denzel Dumfries added two goals in quick succession, before Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram sealed the 6-0 rout.
