PSG and Achraf Hakimi set to extend contract beyond 2026

Paris Saint-Germain is set to secure the future of Achraf Hakimi, with the Moroccan right-back on the verge of signing a contract extension. The club has already reached an agreement in principle to extend his stay, highlighting his importance both on and off the pitch. Hakimi, whose current contract expires in 2026, is seen as a key figure not just for his performances, but also for his influence within the squad.

Despite being only 25 years old, Hakimi boasts a wealth of experience at some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs. After developing through Real Madrid’s youth academy, he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund for two seasons starting in 2018, where he impressed with his pace and versatility. Returning to Madrid in 2020, he was sold to Inter Milan, where he played a crucial role in helping the club win Serie A. His success caught the attention of PSG, who secured his transfer for €68 million after just one season in Italy.

Hakimi was an unused substitute in PSG’s recent 4-2 win over Strasbourg, a result that helped the Parisians maintain their lead in the Ligue 1 standings with 20 points from the first 8 matches. Next up for PSG is a Champions League fixture against PSV, where they will look to continue their strong start to the European campaign.
