Meanwhile, Florian Wirtz’s availability for Leverkusen’s upcoming match against Eintracht Frankfurt remains uncertain. The midfielder picked up an ankle injury during Germany’s 1-0 win over the Netherlands, and although his condition is being monitored closely, Simon Rolfes, the club’s sporting director, clarified, “We didn’t announce that he was out. We announced that he had problems, which everyone could see because he had to come off. That’s why he couldn’t train yesterday. We’ll see how it develops and whether he’s available at the weekend or not.”
