Paul Pogba open to a return to France for his first taste of Ligue 1 football

Paul Pogba and Juventus are moving forward with their discussions to terminate his contract, marking the end of his second spell with the club. Pogba, who will become a free agent in 2025, has expressed openness to new opportunities, including a potential return to France and a first-ever experience in Ligue 1. When asked about the possibility of playing in the French top flight, Pogba told L’Équipé, “We don’t know what tomorrow will be made of, why not play in Ligue 1? I don’t have to say no.”

Pogba’s career journey has been eventful and highly decorated. After leaving France at 16, he joined Manchester United’s youth academy and made his mark with the Red Devils. Following a successful stint in Turin with Juventus, Pogba returned to Manchester United in 2016 for a record transfer fee at the time. He won multiple domestic titles and was a key figure in France’s 2018 World Cup victory. However, his career faced a significant setback following a doping ban in 2023, which sidelined him from the game.

As he prepares for a fresh start in 2025, Pogba’s comments suggest he’s open to exploring Ligue 1, adding intrigue to his next move in football.
