Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has expressed disappointment over Riccardo Calafiori’s move from Bologna to Arsenal, highlighting the loss for Serie A. “It’s sad not being able to keep Riccardo Calafiori in Serie A” Giuntoli stated. The highly-rated defender recently completed a €45 million move to Arsenal, despite interest from Juventus, leaving the Italian club and the league missing out on a talented prospect. Juve’s director added, “It’s bad news not just for us as we wanted Calafiori, but also for the league.”

Beyond Calafiori, Giuntoli provided updates on key players in Juventus’ squad, addressing the future of Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker, widely regarded as one of the top talents in Europe, remains central to the club’s plans. “Dusan Vlahovic has still important perspectives and huge potential” Giuntoli remarked, adding confidence in securing a new contract for the player. “We will get the new contract done with Dusan, I’m sure.”
Giuntoli also cleared up any speculation about Weston McKennie, confirming the midfielder’s commitment to the club after recently signing a contract extension. “Weston McKennie was never out of our project” he explained. “His contract was the topic, but we got the extension done, so he’s 100% part of our squad.”
