Cole Palmer names Eden Hazard as the Chelsea icon he would have loved to play with

Chelsea’s star Cole Palmer expressed his admiration for club legend Eden Hazard, naming him as the one player he would have loved to play alongside. “If I could play with one Chelsea icon, it’d be for sure Eden Hazard” Palmer said. “Our game is different, but I try to be as exciting as Hazard.”

Hazard, widely regarded as one of Chelsea’s greatest players, dazzled fans at Stamford Bridge from 2012 to 2019, where he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and two Europa League trophies. Known for his electrifying dribbles and game-changing performances, Hazard recorded his best Premier League season in his final year at Chelsea, tallying 16 goals and 15 assists, the highest goal involvement of his career with 31 contributions.

However, Palmer’s debut season at Chelsea has already eclipsed Hazard’s best in terms of raw numbers. Palmer managed an impressive 22 goals and 11 assists in the 2023/24 season, surpassing Hazard’s career-best of 31 goal involvements.

Hazard left Chelsea in 2019 to join Real Madrid in a record transfer, though his time in Spain was marred by injuries. Meanwhile, Palmer, having joined from Manchester City in 2023, has quickly become Chelsea’s brightest prospect. With his creative flair and goal-scoring prowess, Palmer is poised to make a lasting impact at Stamford Bridge, aiming to emulate the excitement and success of his idol, Eden Hazard.
