AS Roma have officially parted ways with manager Daniele De Rossi after a disappointing start to the new Serie A season. De Rossi, who had signed a contract extension in June that was set to run until 2027, has been dismissed by the clubβs owners, the Friedkin family, following a run of poor results.

Roma have struggled to find form in their opening four matches, managing just three points from three draws and one defeat. The team has also been lackluster in front of goal, scoring only two goals across those four games. Despite high hopes for De Rossi after his appointment in January to succeed Jose Mourinho, the club’s slow start to the season has proved costly.
De Rossiβs tenure at Roma started with promise, as he guided the team to a 2-1 victory over Verona in his first game in charge. Last season, he led Roma to a 6th place finish in Serie A and a Europa League semi-final, but now he departurts after seven months at the helm.
In total, De Rossi managed 30 games for Roma, recording 14 wins, 9 draws, and 7 defeats. However, his inability to turn around the teamβs fortunes this season has brought his time as Roma’s manager to an early end. The club will now begin the search for a new head coach as they aim to get their season back on track.
