Mikel Arteta signs new Arsenal contract until 2027

Mikel Arteta has signed a fresh three-year contract as Arsenal manager, extending his stay until 2027. The 42-year-old Spaniard was into the final 12 months of his previous deal, but any uncertainty surrounding his future has been removed with this new commitment. The news comes as a huge boost for the Gunners ahead of their upcoming north London derby against Tottenham this weekend.

Following the contract announcement, Arteta expressed his excitement about the new chapter at Arsenal. “I’m extremely proud, very excited and looking forward to what is coming next. I’m proud to be where I am and have the relationships that I have with everyone at the club” he said.

The Spaniard also highlighted the strong bond he shares with the players and staff, adding: “I feel extremely lucky to work every single day with good people and the ambition we have here. I feel very inspired, I feel challenged, I feel supported and I want to do much more than what we’ve already done together.”

The Arsenal manager was particularly appreciative of the club’s supporters, whom he credited for the transformation of both the team and individual players. “Our supporters have transformed individuals and we are different now. You can tell that we are different, and for me, that is down to them. We look forward to continuing the journey together” Arteta said.
