Gavi returns to team training 10 months after ACL injury

Barcelona midfielder Gavi has returned to training with the main group nearly a year after suffering a serious ACL and meniscus injury. The 19-year-old has been sidelined for 298 days following the injury sustained during an international match with Spain in November 2023. His recovery has been long-awaited, and today marked his first session back with the Barcelona squad since that incident.

Gavi’s return comes at a crucial time for the Catalan giants, who have been struggling with injuries, particularly in midfield. The absence of Marc Bernal and Frenkie De Jong’s ongoing situation has left the team short in key areas. Gavi’s reintegration into the squad will take some time but will also provide a significant boost for Barcelona.

The club has ensured that Gavi’s recovery has not been rushed, giving him the time needed to regain strength and confidence on the pitch. His presence in training shows that the talented midfielder is getting closer to making a competitive comeback, which will be key for Barcelona as they have already opened a 4-point gap in the LaLiga standings over their main rivals, Real Madrid.
