Marseille continues to work on securing deals for Eddie Nketiah and Valentin Carboni. For Carboni, the agreement is nearly finalized verbally, but all necessary documents are still pending approval, expected to be ready for his travel this weekend.

Inter chairman, Marotta, confirmed that the clubs are close to completing the Carboni deal, stating, “Yes, I think we will get Carboni deal done with Marseille. But he’ll always be under contract with us and under control.” The pre-arranged agreement includes a loan fee, a €36m buy option clause with add-ons, and a €40m buy-back clause for Inter. Carboni would sign a new deal with Inter before heading out on loan to Marseille.
Meanwhile, Marseille has also targeted Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah. The player has expressed his approval of the French club’s project and is reportedly close to agreeing on a five-year contract. However, Marseille’s latest offer to Arsenal, is almost identical of the initial bid of nearly €20m but with adjusted payment structure and is likely to be rejected by the Gunners as it does not meet their valuation of the forward.
Negotiations with Inter for Carboni have progressed significantly, with all details expected to be ironed out until the end of the week. As for Nketiah, despite the player’s enthusiasm, Marseille and Arsenal are yet to reach a consensus on the fee. The French club has to improve its offer if they are to provide new manager Roberto De Zerbi with the attacking reinforcement needed.
