Fulham is close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal to sign Emile Smith Rowe for a deal worth up to £35 million. This would mark a record recruit for Fulham and match the biggest sale in Arsenal’s history. If the deal is finalized, the 23-year-old is expected to undergo medical tests and finalize the move shortly. So far the Gunners’ record outgoing transfer is that of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlane, who was sold to Liverpool in August of 2017.

For Arsenal, the £35 million sale is a significant deal, while for Smith Rowe, it represents an excellent opportunity to remain in London and gain more playing time. A product of Arsenal’s academy, Smith Rowe has represented the Gunners’ senior team in 115 matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 15 assists. He has also earned 3 caps for England’s senior team.
Last season, Smith Rowe played only 475 minutes across 19 matches in all tournaments. Despite this, at 23 years of age, Smith Rowe is considered a good investment for the present and future of Fulham.
