Simeone and Atletico aim to sign both Dovbyk and Julian Alvarez

Atletico Madrid’s transfer strategy is clear: secure a top striker to bolster their attacking options. The club’s roadmap prioritizes signing a ‘9’ first, with Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk currently leading the race. However, Atletico’s ambitions do not end with Girona’s forward, as they remain determined to bring Julian Alvarez to Madrid.

Reports indicate that Alvarez is keen on joining Atletico Madrid, hoping Manchester City will sanction his transfer. Despite playing a crucial role at City, Alvarez finds himself behind Erling Haaland in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order. The Argentine striker desires a more prominent role, which he believes he can achieve under Diego Simeone’s management.

Negotiations for Alvarez are already in motion, highlighting the player’s willingness to leave Manchester City for a bigger role at Atletico. The club’s pursuit of Dovbyk, who has expressed his readiness to join the Madrid side, is also progressing well. The departure of Álvaro Morata to AC Milan has paved the way for Dovbyk’s arrival, signaling a reshuffle in Atlético’s attacking lineup.

Atleti’s efforts to sign both Dovbyk and Alvarez show their ambition to strengthen their squad with high-caliber talent. Dovbyk finished as the top goal scorer in LaLiga last season, hitting 24 goals. On the other hand, Alvarez has already won every possible trophy in the world of club and international football, including the Premier League, Champions League, World Cup, and Copa America.
