Juventus have won the Italian Cup after defeating 1:0 Atalanta in the final at Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Wednesday. Juve’s Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic scored the only goal of the game as early as the 4th minute when beating Atalanta’s keeper in a one-on-one situation with a precise strike. Vlahovic could have added another goal after his attempt in the 74th minute beat Marco Carnesecchi, but VAR interfered and disallowed it for off-side. By winning the cup, Juve ends a three-season trophy drought. As for Atalanta, they will have another chance of winning silverware this term when next Wednesday they face Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.

“Look, I know where to come and get you. I know where to wait for you”.

Juventus’ manager Massimiliano Allegri was sent off with a straight red card in stoppage time, and after the match, it was revealed that he had threatened Tuttosport director Guido Vaciago, saying, “Write the truth in your newspaper, not what the club tells you… I’ll come and hit you in the face.” Allegri will definitely serve a suspension for the expulsion but if the Italian football federation opens an investigation for his off-field behaviour, the manager might face a lenghty ban.
