Celtics advance to East’s semis, Mavs take control of the series with Clippers

The Boston Celtics are through to the semi-finals in the Eastern Conference after defeating 118-84 the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The Celtics closed out the series 4-1 at TD Garden, with Jaylen Brown and Derrick White as their top performers, both concluding the game with 25 points. In total, 4 Boston players finished with more than 15 points, while for the Heat only Bam Adebayo surpassed that mark with 23 points. Miami ended the game with a disastrous 10.3% success when shooting from long range, hitting only 3 of 29 attempts. Now, the Boston Celtics will expect the winner of the series between Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers in the next round, with the Cavs currently leading 3-2.

In the other NBA playoff meeting last night, Luka Doncic and the Mavericks won comfortably 123-93 against the Los Angeles Clippers and are now one win away from a place in the Western Conference semi-finals. The Slovenian guard led Dallas with his 35 points and 10 assists, and five of his teammates also finished with double-digits in points. For the Clippers, Ivica Zubac and Paul George were the top scorers with 15 points each but L.A.’s other stars – James Harden and Russell Westbrook attributed with just 7 and 6 points respectively.
