A win against Milan tonight will crown Inter as Serie A champions

AC Milan will face their cross-town rivals Inter tonight at Stadio Giuseppe Meaza in Milan. The match, also familiar as derby della Madonnina, provides Inter with an opportunity like never before. The Nerazzurri are currently 1st in Serie A standings on 83 points, 14 ahead of AC Milan, with 6 more games remaining in the season. A victory will see the gap between the two opponents increased to 17, which will make it impossible for the Rossoneri to catch up Inter. None of the previous 179 Serie A editions of the highly anticipated derby has provided the teams with the opportunity to seal the title if they win.

The Nerazzurri are on a run of 5 straight victories against AC Milan, keeping four clean sheets and conceding only in the most recent encounter which they won 5:1. The history is also on Inter’s side, as in 179 Serie A games thus far, they have recorded 69 victories while losing 54 times, and 56 matches have ended without a winner and in draws.
