Jude Bellingham breaks Barcelona’s hearts in stoppage time to put Real Madrid 11 points ahead in LaLiga

Real Madrid twice came from a goal down to eventually win 3:2 against Barcelona in the latest El Clasico edition on Sunday at Santiago Bernabeu. Jude Bellingham scored the winning goal in the added time of the 2nd period to put Los Blancos 11 points ahead of their rivals in the LaLiga standings with just 6 more games of the season remaining.

Barca took the lead in the 6th minute after Andreas Christensen headed home Raphina’s corner kick. The players of Real Madrid reacted immediately and took control of the proceedings and were awarded a penalty kick in the 18th minute after Lucas Vazquez was brought down from a challenge by the 17 year old Pau Cubarsi which Vini Junior cooly turned into goal to restore the parity. The 1st half also witnessed Lamine Yamal’s goal for Barcelona in the 29th minute disallowed after a long VAR check.

Los Cules began the 2nd period with 2 changes to their line-up. Pedri had entered the pitch in place of the injured Frenkie de Jong just before the break, and Fermin Lopez showed up after the break, replacing Christensen. It was exactly Fermin Lopez who put Barca 1:2 ahead with a goal in the 69th minute. Ancelotti responded by introducing Fran Garcia and Brahim Diaz, and just 4 minutes later Real equalized as Lucas Vazquez volleyed Vinicius Junior’s cross into Barcelona’s net. Vazquez was a key figure for Los Blancos during the entire clash, with his latest contribution coming in the stoppage time of the match. Then he sent a low cross into Barca’s penalty box which was trickily evaded by Joselu only for the arriving Jude Bellingham to slot it home.
