Bournemouth did something amazing and very rare in the Premier League last night. They came back to beat Luton Town 4-3 after being down 3-0 at half-time. This is now one of the few times in Premier League history when a team has managed to come back from three goals down at half-time to eventually win. Before the Cherries last night, only Manchester United against Tottenham in September 2001 and Wolverhampton against Leicester in October 2003 have pulled off such turnarounds.

The game was full of ups and downs with Luton players all over Bournemouth in the first half, scoring times in the 9th and 31st minute, and just before the half-time whistle. After the break, everything was different. The hosts began the 2nd period strong, scoring just 5 minutes into it and laying the foundations for their comeback. The Cherries scored two in quick succession between the 62nd and 64th minutes, making it 3-3, and then Antoine Semenyo stepped up, notching his second goal of the night in the 83rd minute to give Bournemouth the win.
Such wins are pretty rare, and this is only the fifth time a Premier League team has won after being three goals down, something that has not happened since 2003. The match at the Vitality Stadium will be remembered for a long time, especially as it helps Bournemouth to extend their lead over their last rivals 14 points. The Cherries are currently in 15th place in the standings with 35 points, while Luton Town sits in 17th position and faces a battle to avoid relegation.
