Manchester United and Granada negotiate about a possible Facundo Pellistri loan deal

Manchester United and Granada are in advanced talks over a possible loan deal regarding Uruguyan Facundo Pellistri. Fabrizio Romano also reveals that the player has personally agreed to move from the Premier League to LaLiga and now the only thing remaining is for the two clubs to figure out the details.

Pellistri joined Manchester United in October of 2020 in an €8.5 million deal from Penarol. Since then he has been loaned out on two occasions and both times ended with Alaves in LaLiga. He returned to the Red Devils in the summer of 2022 and up until now has failed to convince Eric Ten Hag and the Manchester United staff that he deserves more playing time. The Uruguayan has recorded a total of 24 matches for the English club and has provided 2 assists, but is yet to score his debut goal in United shirt.

Granada currently finds itself in the drop zone in the standings, occupying the penultimate 19th place with 11 points. The team is five points behind Sevilla who sits in the first position out of the relegation zone.

Gaining regular playing time could be crucial for Pellistri’s development, especially after limited opportunities at Manchester United. Without a doubt, this summer’s upcoming Copa America tournament had a big influence, as the move will increase the player’s chances of representing Uruguay at the biggest international football tournament in South America.
