First Canadian in Serie A. Inter sign Tajon Buchanan from Club Brugge

Serie A league leaders, Inter, have officially announced the transfer of Tajon Buchanan from the Belgian side Club Brugge. The Canadian international primarily operates on the right side of the field and will provide competition for Denzel Dumfries. He will also serve as cover for the currently injured Juan Cuadrado. Buchanan, who will turn 25 years old in February, spent just a season and a half in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League after joining from New England in the MLS.

The press on the Italian peninsula reports that the transfer fee is €7 million with additional bonuses included. Reportedly, Buchanan is set to receive a salary of €1.5 million per season, with the player signing a contract until the summer of 2028.

Tajon Buchanan has been involved in 20 matches across all competitions for Club Brugge this season, registering 3 goals and 4 assists. With Canada’s international team, he has played in 35 games and has scored 4 goals.
