Cordero’s contract with Malaga expires at the end of the season, meaning he has been free to negotiate with other clubs since the start of the year. In January, he and his family visited Newcastle. The Spaniard rejected three contract extension offers from his current club.
Cordero broke into Malaga’s first team last season, and this campaign he has made 32 appearances in La Liga 2, scoring five goals and providing six assists. In fact, it was his decisive goal that secured promotion for the team in the previous campaign. Cordero is also a Spanish youth international.
