    Key Takeaways:

  • Jadon Sancho provided two assists, and Christopher Nkunku missed a penalty

Chelsea recorded a ninth consecutive win in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The London side secured a 3:0 away victory over Legia Warsaw in the first leg of their quarter-final clash. The two teams played out a lacklustre first half dominated by the visitors. After the break, Enzo Maresca’s side raised the tempo and made it clear that the difference in class between the two teams was significant.

Tyrique George opened the scoring early in the second half with his first goal for the club. Substitute Noni Madueke found the net in the 57th and 74th minutes to effectively render the return leg meaningless. Both of Madueke’s goals were assisted by Jadon Sancho. Chelsea’s win could have been even more convincing, but Christopher Nkunku missed a penalty shortly before the third goal of the match.

The visitors slowed down in the final stages of the game, and shortly before the end nearly conceded. Substitute Patryk Kun found himself in an excellent position and fired a shot, but Jørgensen made a superb save—his first real involvement of the match.
