The Los Angeles Lakers escaped a difficult road game in Memphis with a 134:127 win over the Grizzlies. After dominating the first half and building a lead that stretched to 20 points, the visitors allowed a second-half surge from the home side and found themselves trailing 107:111 with eight minutes left on the clock.

That’s when the star power kicked in. LeBron James delivered four quick points, followed by six from Luka Doncic. The dynamic duo got major help from Austin Reaves, who scored 31 points to lead the game and prove decisive in the final stretch. Doncic contributed 29 points and James finished with 25. Together with Reaves, the trio scored or assisted on 120 of the Lakers’ 134 points.

Reaves is currently in his best stretch of the season. In his last 10 games, he’s scored at least 20 points in nine of them. He’s notched four 30+ point performances during this run and added individual games of 28, 25, 24, and 22 points. His emergence has made him a vital third option behind Luka and LeBron.

Gabe Vincent also played a valuable role, knocking down four three-pointers and finishing with 15 points. On the other side, Ja Morant had 22 points and 10 assists for Memphis, while Desmond Bane led the hosts with 29 points.
