    Takeaways:

  • Bronny James recorded a career-high 17 points in his longest NBA outing
  • Lakers, missing LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves, suffered a heavy 89-118 home loss
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 28 points in just 29 minutes

In the absence of Los Angeles Lakers’ three best players, Bronny James delivered his finest NBA performance yet, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a crushing 89-118 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Lakers were without LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves, allowing Milwaukee to take control early. The visitors dominated the first quarter, building a 15-point lead and coasting through the remainder of the game without resistance.

James Jr. made the most of his extended opportunity, logging 30 minutes — the most since joining the Lakers — and posting a career-high 17 points. He shot 7-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-4 from three, while also contributing five assists.

Dalton Knecht also finished with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Lakers’ 26th loss of the season. Meanwhile, three Bucks players reached the 20-point mark. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the charge with 28 points in just 29 minutes, while Gary Trent Jr. hit six threes on his way to 23 points. Kyle Kuzma, facing his former team, added 20.

With the victory Milwaukee improved to 39-30, while the Lakers hold a 43-26 record.
