  • Aaron Gordon led the Nuggets with 38 points, while Russell Westbrook had a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 16 assists

Despite missing three starters, including Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, the Denver Nuggets shocked the Golden State Warriors with a 114-105 road victory in the NBA last night.

Christian Braun was also absent for the Nuggets, but the team controlled the game for most of the night, halting the Warriors’ seven-game winning streak. The defeat marked Golden State’s only second loss in 16 games since acquiring Jimmy Butler. Aaron Gordon stepped up with a dominant 38-point performance, while Russell Westbrook registered a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 16 assists. Westbrook also nailed a crucial three-pointer late in the game.

Denver led from the end of the first quarter and maintained a 10-to-15-point cushion for most of the game. However, the Warriors tightened up defensively in the fourth quarter, trimming the deficit to just three points. The Nuggets responded with six consecutive points, and Westbrook’s basket for 112-102 effectively sealed the win. Michael Porter Jr. added 21 points for Denver, while Jimmy Butler scored 23 for Golden State, and Steph Curry finished with 20.

Curry struggled from the field, shooting just 6-of-21, and the Warriors as a team hit only 8-of-33 from three-point range (24%). They also missed 12 of their 27 free throws. Golden State remains sixth in the Western Conference with a 39-29 record, while Denver sits third at 44-25, tied with Houston.
