Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring in the 17th minute after a quick PSG counterattack. The winger rounded the goalkeeper and calmly slotted the ball into the net. Just before half-time, the hosts doubled their lead when Fabian Ruiz played a through ball to Nuno Mendes, whose shot deflected off goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli before finding the back of the net.
Marseille found a lifeline early in the second half when they capitalized on a midfield turnover. Adrien Rabiot broke through the PSG defence and passed the ball to Amine Gouiri, who finished clinically in the 51st minute. However, any hope of a comeback ended in the 76th minute when Pol Lirola turned an Achraf Hakimi cross into his own net, securing the three points for PSG.
