Paris Saint-Germain’s owners from Qatar are considering halting the club’s funding following allegations of abuse of power against club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Radio Monte Carlo reports.

Al-Khelaifi is accused of attempting to use influence to pressure the Qatar Investment Fund (Qatar Sports Investments) into changing its stance in a 2018 internal dispute over the management of the French-based media group Lagardère, in which the fund holds shares. Additional accusations include complicity in vote-buying and violating electoral rights.

The Qatari owners believe the allegations are unfounded. In response, they are reportedly ready to suspend financial support not only for PSG but also for beIN Sports, which holds the rights to broadcast one match per round of the French league.

Qatar Sports Investments holds 87.5% of PSG’s shares and has been the club’s majority owner for the past 14 years.
