    Key Takeaways:

  • Kai Havertz will miss the rest of the season due to a torn hamstring suffered during Arsenal’s training camp in Dubai
  • The German international has scored 15 goals and provided 5 assists in 34 matches this season
  • Arsenal will also be without Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka due to injuries

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn hamstring during his team’s training camp, The Athletic reports.

The German international has been a key part of Mikel Arteta’s squad this season. Havertz has been one of Arsenal’s most frequently used players, scoring 15 goals and providing 5 assists in 34 matches across all competitions. He sustained the serious injury during Arsenal’s training camp in Dubai, where the team was taking advantage of their FA Cup elimination to prepare in warmer conditions. Havertz will be sidelined until the end of the season, though it remains unclear whether he will require surgery.

Gabriel Jesus has also been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Additionally, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are unavailable due to injuries. Martinelli picked up his injury in the match against Newcastle, while the England international is also recovering from a tendon rupture.

Havertz’ absence will further limit Arteta’s attacking options, leaving him with only Raheem Sterling, Leandro Trossard, and Ethan Nwaneri as available forwards.
