Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox led the San Antonio Spurs to a narrow 126-125 victory over the Atlanta Hawks in a regular-season NBA matchup. Wembanyama sealed the win by sinking a free throw with 2.9 seconds remaining, while Fox delivered a strong debut performance for his new team.

Fox, who joined the Spurs from Sacramento earlier in the week, contributed 24 points and 13 assists. In the final seconds, Wembanyama capitalized on a missed shot from Fox, executing a putback dunk that put San Antonio ahead 125-123 with 30.4 seconds left. Trae Young responded for Atlanta, tying the game with 8.5 seconds to go. However, Wembanyama was fouled on the following play and made his first free throw before intentionally missing the second, preventing the Hawks from setting up a final play. Trae Young attempted a deep three at the buzzer but missed.

Wembanyama finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Devin Vassell added 20 points for San Antonio, which recorded only its third win in the last 10 games. Young led the Hawks with 32 points and 12 assists but committed nine turnovers.
