    Key Takeaways:

  • Boston Celtics secured a dominant 125-85 victory over Golden State Warriors in San Francisco
  • Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists
  • Stephen Curry was the Warriors’ top scorer with 18 points
  • This was Golden State’s heaviest home loss in 40 years
  • Boston remains second in the Eastern Conference with a 30-13 record, while Golden State is 11th in the Western Conference at 21-21

The Boston Celtics delivered a crushing 125-85 win over the Golden State Warriors in their latest NBA regular-season encounter. Jayson Tatum led the charge for the defending champions, contributing 22 points, a game-high nine rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Payton Pritchard added 14 points and set a career-high with nine assists, as six Celtics players scored in double digits, showcasing their depth and dominance.

For Golden State, Stephen Curry was the top performer with 18 points, while Moses Moody added 13. However, the rest of the Warriors struggled offensively, and the team suffered its worst home loss in four decades. The previous comparable defeat came on January 15, 1985.

This game also highlighted a growing trend in the Celtics-Warriors rivalry. The 40-point margin recalled Boston’s 88-140 rout of Golden State in March of last season, which followed a thrilling overtime victory by the Warriors earlier in the year. Earlier this season, Golden State had managed a narrow 118-112 win over Boston on November 6.

With the victory, Boston maintains a strong position in the Eastern Conference, sitting second with a 30-13 record. Golden State, meanwhile, finds itself 11th in the Western Conference standings, with a 21-21 record, struggling to secure a play-in tournament spot.
