Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign Dutch forward Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund on a permanent deal. The transfer is valued at €25 million with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons, of which €3 million are guaranteed. Only minor details remain to be clarified before the formalities, including medicals, are completed later this week.

Since joining Borussia Dortmund in 2021, Malen has been a key part of their attack, making 132 appearances in all competitions. During his time in the black and yellow jersey, he scored 39 goals and provided 20 assists. However, this season has seen limited opportunities for the Dutch forward, as he has been involved in 21 matches across all tournaments, but started only in 10, and completed the full 90 minutes just once.

As Aston Villa finalize the Malen deal, the club is also monitoring Celta Vigo’s Oscar Mingueza. While no formal bid has been submitted, Villa’s interest remains strong. Celta Vigo, however, insists that Mingueza’s release clause must be met for a January transfer to occur.
