AC Milan’s 125th anniversary celebrations were dampened by a disappointing 0-0 draw against Genoa at the San Siro on Sunday. The game was marked by a special pre-match ceremony, which included the induction of several legends into Milan’s Hall of Fame, including Franco Baresi, Marco van Basten, Filippo Inzaghi, and Andriy Shevchenko. A spectacular audiovisual show also took place, as well as a parade of Milan legends such as Baresi, Van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit, Inzaghi, Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Ambrosini, and Clarence Seedorf.

During the match, the Milan players wore a special retro kit, unveiled only days earlier, to mark the occasion. However, the celebrations ended on a sour note, with the team being booed off the pitch by the packed stands. Despite dominating the game, Milan failed to score, and the draw was a disappointing result for the hosts. The team’s performance was lackluster, and the Rossoneri were unable to capitalize on their chances, leading to frustration among the fans.

The draw saw Milan slipped to eighth place with 23 points. Genoa, on the other hand, remains unbeaten in six consecutive matches and currently occupies 13th place with 16 points. The 125th anniversary celebrations will be remembered for the special ceremony and the presence of Milan legends, but the draw will be a disappointment that will linger for some time.
