The Gunners were the more dangerous side throughout, especially during set pieces, while United struggled to create clear scoring opportunities. Both of Arsenal’s goals came in the second half, courtesy of corner kicks. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring in the 54th minute, capitalizing on precise delivery and poor marking in United’s defence. William Saliba doubled the lead in the 73rd minute with a towering header, leaving United goalkeeper Andrе Onana with no chance. Arsenal’s set-pieces proved to be the decisive factor, as almost every corner they took caused significant problems for United’s defence.
The victory allowed Mikel Arteta’s team to gain a valuable three points and capitalize on Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Newcastle. Arsenal have now collected 28 points and trail Liverpool by seven in the title race. The Red Devils remain in the bottom half of the table, sitting in 11th spot with 19 points.
