Stunning PSV comeback seals last-minute victory over Shakhtar Donetsk

PSV Eindhoven pulled off a dramatic 3-2 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in a thrilling Champions League encounter. The Dutch side trailed 2-0 until the 87th minute but managed to score three late goals, capped by Ricardo Pepi’s stoppage-time winner. The win marks PSV’s second consecutive victory in the competition, moving them to eight points, while Shakhtar remains with four.

The Ukrainians dominated the first half, taking the lead through Danilo Sikan in the 8th minute. Oleksandr Zubkov doubled their advantage in the 37th minute after a precise assist from Yukhym Konoplia, who also set up the opener. PSV struggled to break through Shakhtar’s defence and left gaps that the Ukrainian side exploited effectively.

The momentum shifted in the 69th minute when Shakhtar’s Pedro Henrique received a red card, leaving the visitors with ten men. PSV intensified their attacks, but it wasn’t until the 87th minute that Malik Tillman finally broke through, scoring to revive the Dutch side’s hopes. Just three minutes later, Tillman struck again, leveling the score and piling pressure on Shakhtar. In the dying moments of stoppage time, substitute Ricardo Pepi scored the decisive goal to complete PSV’s remarkable turnaround.
