Philadelphia falls to Memphis despite Embiid’s 35 points, Bucks dominate Bulls

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 117-111, handing Philadelphia their fifth consecutive loss. Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 25 points, while Desmond Bane added 21 points and recorded his second double-double in three games. Joel Embiid had a dominant outing with 35 points and 11 rebounds, but his efforts were not enough to prevent another loss for the 76ers. Paul George exited the game early in the third quarter due to a left knee injury, further complicating Philadelphia’s struggles. The defeat was 12th in the season for the 76ers, who now how the worst record in the NBA with 2-12. Memphis improved to 9-7 balance and sit in 9th position in the Western Conference.

Recently, Tyrese Maxey called out Joel Embiid for being late to team activities during a team meeting after the 76ers lost to the Miami Heat, resulting in a discussion about accountability. Despite initial reports of tension between the two teammates, former Sixers guard Lou Williams clarified that the situation was not as serious as it was made out to be. He explained that it was more of a conversation about accountability rather than a fight, and that Maxey’s relationship with Embiid seemed to be just fine.

Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks, another struggling organization in the Eastern Conference, secured a 122-106 victory over the Chicago Bulls, powered by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s remarkable 41-point performance, including 25 points in the third quarter alone. Brook Lopez contributed 21 points, while Damian Lillard added 20 points and 10 assists. The Bucks shot a season-high 55 percent from the field and sealed the win with an 18-4 closing run. The victory also evened the season series between the two teams.
