Bayern CEO Dreesen discusses contract renewals and potential Wirtz transfer

Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sanе confirmed ongoing contract discussions with the club, expressing his satisfaction in Munich. “We are in talks, I feel comfortable in Munich” the winger stated, emphasizing his current focus is on Bayern.

Bayern’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen who recently extended his own contract with the club until 2027 also addressed the plans for contract extensions with players, highlighting Joshua Kimmich as a priority. “We’ve already said publicly that we want to start talks with Joshua Kimmich over a contract extension as soon as possible” he said, adding his hope that Kimmich will remain a cornerstone of the team.

Discussions regarding Jamal Musiala’s future are similarly progressing. Dreesen expressed optimism about reaching a new agreement with the young star. “Of course, we want to extend the contract of one of the top players in the world” he stated. “I very much hope that these first really good talks will lead to an extension.”

Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala refrained from commenting on the possibility of Wirtz joining Bayern, saying, “I don’t want to put pressure or give feedback about that. It’s always Florian’s own decision, and he has to know for himself.”

Wirtz, considered a top target for Bayern, was also mentioned by Dreesen. He affirmed the club’s interest in the Bayer Leverkusen player, while noting the need for financial stability at the club. “It must always be in Bayern’s interest to have the best German players” Dreesen said.
