Szoboszlai’s late penalty denies Germany, Netherlands held by Bosnia and Herzegovina in UEFA Nations League

Germany drew 1-1 against Hungary in their final UEFA Nations League group-stage match. Felix Nmecha scored in the 76th minute, marking his first goal for the national team, but Hungary equalized late with a penalty from Dominik Szoboszlai in the eighth minute of stoppage time. Germany fielded an experimental lineup, though key attackers Kai Havertz, Jamal Musiala, and Florian Wirtz entered during the second half. Florian Wirtz received a yellow card and will miss Germany’s next match. On the other hand, Hungary remains unbeaten at home for over two years.

In the only other League A match last night, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands played to a 1-1 draw in Group 3. Brian Brobbey gave the Netherlands the lead in the 24th minute, while Ermedin Demirovic leveled for Bosnia in the 68th minute. The match included three disallowed goals. Bosnia finishes last in the group with two points and is relegated to League B, while the Netherlands claim second place with nine points and advance to the quarterfinals.
