Reigning Nations League champions Spain continued their strong run in this year’s tournament, finishing their Group 4 campaign in League A with a 3-2 victory over Switzerland. Playing in Tenerife, Luis de la Fuente fielded a completely changed starting eleven compared to the lineup that faced Denmark a couple of days earlier. Despite the heavy rotation, Spain secured the win, though not without effort. Yeremy Pino put La Furia ahead in the 32nd minute, only for Joel Monteiro to equalize for Switzerland in the 63rd minute. Bryan Gil restored Spain’s lead in the 68th minute, but the Swiss leveled the score again in the 83rd minute through Andi Zeqiri’s penalty. Spain was awarded a penalty in stoppage time and Bryan Zaragoza converted it to seal the 3-2 victory.

In the same group, Denmark held Serbia to a 0-0 draw in a crucial match played in Leskovac. The result secured second place for the Danes, earning them a spot in the quarterfinals. The match saw Serbia dominate possession and create more opportunities, with Dusan Vlahovic, Andrija Zivkovic, and Aleksandar Mitrovic all coming close to scoring. However, Denmark’s goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel delivered a stellar performance, making several key saves to preserve the clean sheet and Denmark’s progression.
