Huge wins for England and Norway in the Nations League, both teams earn promotion

England gained promotion to League A of the Nations League with a dominant 5-0 victory over Ireland at Wembley in Lee Carsley’s final match in charge. The Three Lions failed to register a shot on Ireland’s goal during the first half, but the decisive moment of the match came just after the half-time break. In the 51st minute, Liam Scales committed a foul in his penalty box, resulting in a penalty for England and a second yellow card for the defender. With a man up, England ran riot, scoring three goals in a five-minute span. Harry Kane converted the penalty to open the scoring, followed by goals from Anthony Gordon and Conor Gallagher. Substitute Jarrod Bowen netted the fourth goal in the 75th minute just seconds after coming on, while debutant Taylor Harwood-Bellis also found the back of the net in the 79th minute after entering as a substitute.

In another key match, Norway achieved a similar 5-0 triumph in their final Group 3 League B game against Kazakhstan. The victory was crucial for the Norwegians, as it propelled them to the top of the group standings and secured promotion to the elite League A. Manchester City star Erling Haaland was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 23rd, 37th, and 71st minutes. Alexander Sørloth added another goal in the 41st minute, while Antonio Nusa sealed the win with a strike in the 76th minute.
