Bronny James scores first NBA points, but Lakers fall short to Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their undefeated run with a decisive 134-110 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, securing a 5-0 record to top the league standings. This impressive start, their best since the 2016-17 season when LeBron James was part of the team, reflects the Cavaliers’ strong potential this season. One of the night’s memorable moments came from LeBron’s son, Bronny James, who scored his first NBA basket against the team his father led to an NBA title.

Evan Mobley stood out for Cleveland, posting 25 points, while Donovan Mitchell added 24 points and seven assists to keep the Cavaliers in control throughout. Despite LeBron James’ 26 points and Anthony Davis’ 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers, Los Angeles were unable to match Cleveland’s fast pace and cohesive play.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Indiana Pacers claimed a thrilling 135-132 overtime victory over the Boston Celtics. Pascal Siakam delivered the game-winning three-pointer, overshadowing Jayson Tatum’s impressive 37-point performance. Indiana’s Bennedict Mathurin and Tyrese Haliburton also contributed significantly to the win.

In the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 105-93, with Lu Dort leading the way with 20 points. In the much-anticipated match-up of young talents, Chet Holmgren’s 19 points gave him the edge over last season’s rookie of the year Victor Wembanyama, who finished the game with just 6 points.
