Napoli maintain Serie A lead with key win over AC Milan

Napoli claimed a crucial victory over AC Milan at the San Siro, winning 2-0 to maintain their seven-point lead at the top of Serie A. The match saw goals from Romelu Lukaku and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, both scoring in the first half. Lukaku opened the scoring with a powerful finish, marking his 100th goal contribution (goals + assists) in Serie A, while Kvaratskhelia dribbled through Milan’s defence to extend Napoli’s lead before the break.

AC Milan’s Alvaro Morata found the net in the second half, but his goal was ruled out for offside, allowing Napoli to preserve their lead and add three important points to their title race ambitions.

After the match, Napoli manager Antonio Conte praised Lukaku’s commitment, stating, “Romelu Lukaku rejected bids from Premier League clubs to wait for us and join Napoli in August. He strongly wanted to work with us again, and this is fantastic. He’s an excellent guy, top player.” With this win, Napoli solidifies their title credentials, now turning their attention to an upcoming top of the table clash with Inter.
