Celtics and Lakers win on historic NBA season opening night

The NBA season opener was a night of history and celebration. The Boston Celtics raised their record-breaking 18th championship banner at TD Garden, setting a new milestone in NBA history. On the court, the team showcased their prowess, tying the NBA record for three-pointers made in a game with 29, reaching the mark with 8:50 left to play. However, they missed their next 13 attempts, leaving the record unbroken. Jayson Tatum led the way, scoring 38 points on an impressive 14/18 shooting and adding 10 assists. All five Celtics starters finished in double figures. For the New York Knicks, Jalen Brunson scored 22 points, while new additions Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers made history of their own. LeBron James and his elder son Bronny became the first father-son duo to share the court in an NBA game. The Lakers secured a 110-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, powered by Anthony Davis’ dominant performance of 36 points and 16 rebounds. LeBron added 16 points, while Bronny, playing just 2:41 minutes, missed both of his shot attempts. Still, it was a memorable night for the James family and the NBA community, marking the start of a new season with moments that will be remembered for years.
