Mikel Arteta provides fitness updates, as Arsenal prepares for 2,000th win in England’s top division

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provided updates on the team’s injury situation ahead of their Premier League match against Bournemouth on Saturday. Arteta reassured fans about Bukayo Saka’s condition, saying, “Bukayo Saka’s injury is not serious, he’s evolving very well and we are hopeful.”

Arteta also mentioned that Kai Havertz could potentially be available this weekend, provided everything goes as planned in training. He confirmed that Thomas Partey is fully fit, while decisions on Gabriel Martinelli and Havertz would be made closer to the match. He added that Ben White, Jurrien Timber, and Oleksandr Zinchenko are nearing returns, with hopes for positive news in the coming weeks.

Speaking on Martin Odegaard’s fitness, Arteta stated that while the midfielder won’t be ready for the upcoming match, he is confident that the Norwegian will return before the November international break. Arteta expressed his satisfaction with Kai Havertz’s progress, acknowledging the German’s early struggles but emphasizing the positive trajectory, “It was a difficult start and at the moment we are in a great place.”

A victory against Bournemouth tomorrow would mark a milestone for Arsenal, making them only the second club in English football history to reach 2,000 top-flight league wins.
