Messi awarded ‘Best of All Time’ by Marca, says “The end is near”

Leo Messi has been honoured by the popular Spanish media outlet Marca, who declared him the greatest footballer of all time. In recognition of his achievements, Messi received a golden statue of his iconic celebration pose, celebrating his record 46 titles, the most by any player in the history of sport.

Reflecting on his illustrious career, Messi expressed gratitude for having achieved all of his football dreams, including winning every major title with his longtime club Barcelona, securing trophies during his stint at PSG, and, most significantly, realizing his dream of winning the World Cup with Argentina. He acknowledged that he had accomplished all goals he set out to in the sport and feels fulfilled.

Speaking about the future, Messi remarked, “The end is near and I’m enjoying and valuing every moment as maximum as possible.” These words might lead to speculation about his possible retirement, leaving fans wondering whether he will aim for participation in the 2026 World Cup. The legendary forward emphasized that both Argentina and Barcelona will always be his homes, and he is now relishing a new, happy chapter in his life.
